Motel >> Chinatown >> Circular Quay >> Cockatoo Island >> Circular Quay >> Sydney Library (Old Custom Building) >> Opera House >> Royal Botanic Garden >> Opera Bar >> Motel

We had a simple plan of our Sydney tour this year and also decided to spend our time not is rush.  So, we have decided to pay a visit at Cockatoo Island where allocated in Sydney Cove during the 3rd day of our Sydney Tour after we checked others' footage from internet at previous night.
We took the bus from the motel to Circular Quay where we will take the ferry via Chinatown.

The Circular Quay is a very popular tourist point with made up of walkways, pedestrian malls, parks and restaurants.  It is a major Sydney transport hub which with a large ferry, rail and bus interchange.  Sydney Cove where the Circular Quay is located, was also the site of the initial landing of the First Fleet in Port Jackson on 26 January 1788.

We never thought that the ferry would depart from the wharf by reversing, and I have a good shot of front view of Sydney Opera House.

I also have a good shot of Habour bridge on the way to Cockatoo Island.

Cockatoo Island is located at the junction of the parramatta and Land Cove rivers within Sydney Harbour, and it is now with the area of 44 acres where most vegetation is cleared.

This island operated as a convict penal establishment which primarily as a place of secondary punishment for convicts who had re-offended in the colonies between 1839 and 1869, and it also recognised one of Australia's biggest shipyards.  This sipyard was operating between 1857 and 1991, and the first of its 2 dry docks was built by convicts.

As shown by the picture as below, Cockatoo Island was also a major dockyard and repair facility during WWII.

The guiding staff give us a quick intro about this island and also told us that there were 3000 people here at New Year's Eve.

He also told us that Angelina Jolie's new movie had scenes shut here, and Wolverin also had few scenes shut here as well.

The parts as below I assumed were the parts of engines which disassambled from the ships.

We returned to Circular Quay after finished the little trip on Cockatoo Island, and we went to Sydney Library where opposits to Circular Quay after had a quick lunch.  This library was transformed from the former Custom building, and it is so amazing that I saw a cleared floor where contains a built model of good scale of Sydney CBD.

Arrived Sydney Opera House again and we decided to have nice look around this time.  We missed the Royal Botanic Garden last time, and we wouldn't this time.

I also was surprised by the Lotus from the Lotus pond, but I would say that the Lotus grown at Bai-He Distric of Tainan City Taiwan were a little better than the Lotus here.

I ordered a glass of "Sydney Sling" at Opera Bar after left Royal Botanic Garden, and we had finished the schedule for the day after returned motel safely.
